The End of the Superpower Era: Time for Justice, Not Hypocrisy
“When justice is selective, peace becomes impossible. When peace is denied, resistance becomes a right.”
The illusion of an uncontested global superpower is fast dissolving. With Iran’s powerful retaliation and unwavering stance against Israeli aggression, the world has now entered a new phase in geopolitical history — where the old rules of unchecked dominance no longer apply.
The recent escalation has exposed not only Israel’s military vulnerabilities but also the moral bankruptcy of the global power structure, particularly that of the United States, which continues to shield Israel while ignoring its blatant violations of international law and human rights.
Israel’s Dangerous Gamble
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his latest speech, once again threatened further attacks under the guise of “self-defense,” while simultaneously calling upon the Iranian people to rise against their own government. This tired tactic — inciting internal rebellion in the name of “freedom” — is not only outdated, but insulting to the political maturity of the Iranian nation.
For decades, Israel has carried out systematic ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank, with full impunity and Western backing. It had no fear while bombing homes, hospitals, and refugee camps. Yet now, after Iran’s firm and proportionate response, Israel suddenly seeks to change the narrative — from aggressor to victim. The world sees through this hypocrisy.
America’s Credibility at Stake
The United States faces a historic dilemma: Continue its blind support for Israel or acknowledge the changing reality and adapt to a new global balance. If the U.S. chooses to defend Israel at all costs, even in the face of truth and justice, it risks becoming a morally isolated and diplomatically humiliated power.
Iran is not a minor state that can be bullied by sanctions or threats. It is a sovereign, militarily capable nation that has shown it will not tolerate aggression. If provoked further, it may not hesitate to target U.S. naval fleets in the Persian Gulf, a move that would have serious consequences for regional and global stability.
The United Nations Must Act – Or Become Irrelevant
In all of this, the role of the United Nations remains disturbingly passive. The very institution built to prevent war and uphold justice has been reduced to a tool of selective enforcement. The global perception is clear: The UN responds when powerful nations are attacked, but remains silent when the oppressed cry out.
If the UN fails to ensure equal treatment for all nations, and does not mediate with true neutrality, it risks becoming obsolete. Its credibility, relevance, and even its survival are now at stake.
Two Clear Options: Equal Sovereignty or Equal Settlement
The world now faces a moral crossroad. There are only two paths forward:
1. Either leave both Israel and Iran to deal with each other independently, without outside interference or selective backing,
OR
2. Mediate a fair peace based on equality, justice, and mutual sovereignty — not on threats, propaganda, or double standards.
Any attempt to subdue one side while protecting the other will lead not to peace, but to escalation, instability, and potential global confrontation.
A Message to the World Powers
This is not just about Iran or Israel. This is about the future of international law, peace, and credibility of global institutions. The era of selective justice and manufactured narratives is over. The superpower playbook is no longer effective. Nations have changed. People are aware. Resistance is no longer a threat — it is a right when justice is denied.
Final Appeal for Global Peace
As a political observer, social reformer, and believer in multilateral diplomacy, I issue this appeal to world leaders:
Let not ego and alliance destroy what little remains of global peace. Let not the lives of innocents — Palestinian, Israeli, Iranian or others — be sacrificed for power games.
Let the voice of reason prevail over rhetoric, and diplomacy triumph over destruction.
This is the time to reform the system, not protect its failures.
Because if justice is not restored now, the world will not witness the fall of superpowers — it will witness the fall of peace itself.
