Palestine Oppression, Self-Interest, and the Silence of the Muslim World
History today is being written in the blood and tears of Palestine. Entire neighborhoods in Gaza have turned into rubble, tens of thousands have been killed, and millions are displaced. Children are dying not only from bombs but also from hunger and disease. Yet, the question remains: why are the world’s most powerful states silent? And why are the 57 Muslim-majority nations unable to act beyond issuing statements?
The Present Reality: Blood and Hunger
In Gaza, Israeli bombardments have reduced cities to dust. Over a million people have been forced to leave their homes, and countless families are left without food, water, or medicine. United Nations agencies themselves admit that famine has taken hold in parts of Gaza. Still, the so-called “conscience of the world” remains asleep.
Israel and Western Interests
This tragedy is not merely a local conflict; it is a battle of interests.
• Israel functions as the strategic military outpost for Western powers in the Middle East.
• The U.S. and Europe provide billions in military aid to ensure their dominance in the region.
• Western politics is heavily influenced by powerful Jewish lobbies, such as AIPAC, which guarantees Israel a free hand.
• Media, financial networks, and technology sectors amplify Israel’s reach and cement Western-Israeli alignment.
The Silence of the Muslim World
The most painful reality is the silence of the Muslim world. With 57 states, immense oil wealth, and vast resources, they remain practically paralyzed.
• Internal divisions—Arab vs. non-Arab, Sunni vs. Shia—undermine unity.
• Economic and military dependence on the West keeps leaders submissive.
• Several Arab nations have normalized ties with Israel, sidelining the Palestinian cause.
• The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issues resolutions but takes no meaningful action.
Historical Injustice and Betrayal
The Jewish people were once victims of persecution and genocide. During the Holocaust, most countries refused them refuge. Yet, Palestine became a land where Jews coexisted alongside Muslims and Christians.
Today, however, the descendants of those who once sought refuge have turned against their benefactors. Instead of gratitude, Palestinians are repaid with displacement, occupation, and oppression. It is one of history’s darkest examples of betrayal.
The Law of Justice: The End of Oppression
History proves one truth over and over again: oppression never lasts forever.
• Pharaoh’s empire drowned in its arrogance.
• Rome and Persia collapsed under their own corruption and injustice.
• Nazi Germany inflicted death on millions but ultimately faced destruction.
Israel today may appear powerful, but no power can escape the law of justice. As the Qur’an says:
“Allah gives respite to the oppressor, but when He seizes him, He does not let go.”
Conclusion
The tragedy of Palestine is not just a regional conflict—it is a test of humanity itself. Western states and Israel prioritize their interests over justice, while the silence of Muslim governments enables the continuation of bloodshed. But history’s verdict is inevitable: oppression always turns against the oppressor. The sacrifices of Palestinians will not be in vain, and justice, sooner or later, will prevail.
