Unity in Faith-A Call for Peace among Muslims, Jews, and Christians.
Unity in Faith-A Call for Peace among Muslims, Jews, and Christians.
In an increasingly divided world, the need for mutual understanding and coexistence among different faiths has never been greater. Among the world’s major religions, Islam Judaism, and Christianity stand out not only because of their large number of followers but also because of their deeply intertwined spiritual lineage. Despite historical tensions, these three Abrahamic faiths share far more than what divides them. It is time we focus on these commonalities to build a more peaceful and united world.
A Common Ancestry
All three religions trace their spiritual heritage to a single patriarch: Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). This shared forefatherhood is not just a genealogical fact but a spiritual bond that connects billions of people across the globe. The descendants of Isaac and Jacob (peace be upon them)—namely the Jews and Christians—received divine guidance through prophets like Moses, David, and Jesus (peace be upon them), and through the revealed scriptures: the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel.
From Ishmael (peace be upon him), the elder son of Abraham—whose sacrifice is commemorated in the Muslim tradition—came the lineage of the final Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the last revealed scripture, the Holy Qur’an.
Shared Beliefs and Universal Values
At their core, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, all believe in:
• One God
• Prophethood
• Revealed Scriptures
• Day of Judgment
• Heaven and Hell
• The sanctity of human life and dignity
These shared beliefs form the moral and spiritual foundation of each faith. All three promote justice, charity, compassion, family values, and above all, humanity.
Muslims, in particular, are required to believe in all previous prophets and scriptures. The Quran explicitly confirms the truth of previous prophets such as Moses, David, Solomon, and Jesus (peace be upon them all). It acknowledges the authenticity of the earlier revelations—though it holds that over time, those texts were altered or partially lost. Nonetheless, Islam urges Muslims to respect the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) and to engage in dialogue with them in the most respectful and peaceful manner.
So Why the Division?
Given such overwhelming common ground, the question arises: Why is there hostility or division among Muslims, Jews, and Christians, ?
The answer lies not in the religions themselves, but in misunderstandings, historical grievances, political manipulation, and lack of dialogue. Over time, theological differences—however small—have been amplified into barriers of hate. Certain political interests have used religion as a weapon, sowing division to serve their own agendas.
The Need for Dialogue and Coexistence
It is imperative for all three faith communities to recognize:
• We are from the same spiritual family.
• We believe in the same Allah.
• We uphold the same core ethical principles.
Instead of allowing minor differences to spark hatred or violence, we should celebrate our common values and work together for the betterment of humanity. If all stakeholders—religious leaders, scholars, policymakers, and ordinary believers—can come together and establish principles of peaceful coexistence, the dream of a more harmonious world can become a reality.
A Shared Mission for Humanity
All divine religions are, at their core, religions of humanity. They were revealed to uplift human beings, to promote mercy, justice, and love. Therefore, if the followers of these faiths embrace this universal humanistic spirit, they can become agents of peace, not division.
Let us remember:
• We are children of Abraham.
• We share a legacy of revelation and prophecy.
• Our destinies are intertwined on this Earth.
Message to the World: Let Peace Be Our Common Goal
Let us not allow differences to divide us but let our shared beliefs unite us. Let Muslims, Jews, and Christians, and come together in dialogue, respect, and mutual trust. Let us build bridges, not walls. Let us plant the seeds of love, not hatred. Together, we can end religious violence, discrimination, and war—and pave the way for a world filled with peace, compassion, and unity.
This is not a dream. This is our responsibility. It starts with acknowledging each other—not as enemies—but as brothers and sisters in faith and humanity.
